The aforesaid page on the government website tells us about the defunct status of a registered society  i.e. The  Governing Council of the American College. Well, we can recognize at least four of the points mentioned in that: name of the society, its registration number, year of registration and type of the society. It’s very shocking to read the rest; all that we need are the wisdom and patience to understand what is going on and the resolve to fight it out. Trust me, these are no printing errors. One can only sense a probable conspiracy to obliterate the existing society with the criminal intention of concocting a new one in its place to serve the vested interests. The “SAVE AMERICAN COLLEGE” struggle is not an ego clash between individuals or a power contest between groups—as I understand, but a case of calculated attempt on the one side to control the revenues and resources of the college and  the resistance on the other to such attempt.

The goal of these forces in nexus is hijacking the college and we have ample grounds to suspect of massive tampering of vital documents in the process. God help us!  Is The Rt.Rev. Dr. Jospeh, Bishop-Chairman of the Governing Council—who, I’m sure, won’t like to be seen as another Asir—aware of this condition of the Society? Did he try to know from Dr. Chrostober [who, somehow, has been an officer of the college since 2006] and others why and how this situation arose? When Prof. Suriyakumar spoke in their Governing Council meeting, based on certain RTI documents available with him, that the inquiries on the Society (Governing Council of the American College) were not over and hence their council was not legal yet, so to say, the Bishop asked him for those documents. Does the Bishop really believe their council is genuine and legal?  If yes, will he share with Suri the documents in their possession to establish the same? I insist he did. If no, why can't he refrain from presiding over a fake body backing a fraudulent person?  Will Dr. Joseph, with the Bible and the scepter in his hands, have the honesty and courage to stand
by what is just?

It is going to matter most as his conscience can save the life of this college; keep the prestige of the Church and sustain the fellowship between the two.

Will it happen?

A RAY OF HOPE ....

*

There is a ray of hope at this dark hour that our folks won the faculty elections held on May 02, 2014 as given below:

Dr. M. Rajendra Pandian  - Governing Council Member (June 1, 2014 to May 31, 2016)
Dr. K. Navaneetha Kannan - Faculty Secretary (June 1, 2014 to May 31, 2015)
Dr. J. Evanjeline Manoharan   - Senatus Member (June 1, 2014 to May 31, 2015)
Dr. S. Premsingh - Senatus Member (June 1, 2014 to May 31, 2015)

Dr. M. Rajendra Pandian (English) makes it to the GC for a third term. In 2006 and 2008 he was elected unopposed and this time by a thumping majority.

Dr. K. Navaneetha Kannan (Zoology) has already been the Faculty Secretary and then a Governing Council Member. This is his second term as Faculty Secretary.

Dr. J. Evanjeline Manoharan (Tamil) who lost the Senatus election last time scored the highest vote among the eight Senatus candidates this time. And,

Dr. Premsingh (Chemistry) has made it to the Senatus for a second consecutive year.

These election results give us the hope that ‘all is not lost’. They also renew our trust in the American College faculty who can restore the college and its glory.

Congrats and best wishes!
