FRAUDULENCE, FORGERY & PERJURY !

*

There is a good adage, a very popular one, in Tamil :  செருப்புக்கு ஏத்த மாதிரி காலை வெட்டிக்கிறது ... (cut your legs to suit your shoes!) Our great man Davamani is trying to do that – starting an education department in our college, so that his “Ph.D. in Education” may become ‘suitable and acceptable’.

I really admire him – for all his knacks in the ‘hurdles run’!

The following are some materials from my reliable sources to keep him exposed in  his legal jugglery with his forgery and perjury.

FRAUDULENCE, FORGERY &  PERJURY !

Dr. Rajendra Pandian’s email to the Principal sent on March 03, 2014 with copies to Members of the Senatus, The American College:

Dear Sir:

Greetings to you!

I, as a member of the faculty, submit to send you this mail much against my natural instinct for self restraint at a time as this. I think it is no longer a secret that your PhD degree is dubious; it was shocking to learn that the university that awarded the degree has said you got the certificate “wrongly and fraudulently” and “stage-managed”.

When it is widely speculated —thanks to the ongoing litigation questioning your qualification and selection as Principal—that you, with PhD  “only” in Education [and not Mathematics / “Interdisciplinary” as you claim], may be disqualified from heading this institution which doesn’t offer programs in that discipline, it came as a bizarre piece of information  that Dr. G. C. Abraham, the Vice-Principal had suggested in a recent Senatus meeting that the college should think of offering “Education” in its curriculum. I also heard you promptly hushed him up, for some reason or other, and there was no discussion, resolution, whatsoever on it in the Senatus.

In this context, many of us were taken by surprise when we learnt something like: the administration had filed a document with the Honorable Madras High Court Bench, Madurai on Feb 24, 2014 conveying that “Education” might soon find a place in the college curriculum!!

Is it true that such a representation to the court was made?

If so, doesn’t your effort to introduce a course in “Education” in this fashion, if ever possible in a liberal arts college as ours, demonstrate a desperation to help yourself rather than the desire to serve God and People, as we always claim? By the way, I would also like to know whether the court is the only forum in receipt of such representation. The perceived manipulation and misrepresentation of fact in this regard alongside a daring abuse of autonomy are unacceptable!

I thank you, Sir.

Sincerely,

Reported highlights of the Senatus meeting held on March 04, 2014:

·         The Principal admitted that he had presented a document to the court stating the Senatus had resolved to create a Department of Education. When some members said it came up only as a feeble suggestion followed by no discussion or resolution, he said it was resolved so as it was not opposed!!
·         When some agitated senior members of the Senatus asked the Vice Principal whether any such a resolution was passed he said “No”.
·         The Principal refused to circulate the minutes of the particular meeting saying that it was not yet ready [whereas he had already filed a fake document with  the court as Senatus minutes].
·         Those senior members who argued with him for about an hour condemned this as “breach of trust”, and “blatant lying” walked out of the Hall.

Faculty Meeting and Academic Council Meeting as reported:

·         Over the same issue and the denial of permission to discuss it, there was increased unrest for about two hours in the faculty meeting on March 06, 2014 preceding the academic council meetings.
·         The academic Council meeting on March 07, 2014 went on without any mention of “Education”. Queries from two senior faculty members on the alleged issuance of “fabricated mark sheets” to some students and the furnishing of “false records” to the AICTE for getting extension for the MBA program elicited no answer.

  1. For some people, 'education' means to make 'money'... it's nothing to do with gaining knowledge and wisdom. So these things will happen and torment the souls of kindhearted people, who believe in values of education.... :(

  2. Dr. A.R. VENKITRAMAN writes ....

What I read about what is going on in the College makes me very sad. I have felt before and feel the same way now that our judicial system alone can be the decisive and final arbiter for justice at American College. But then our Courts do not seem to work in finite time, so justice is invariably delayed. One recalls vainly the old adage that justice delayed is justice denied!

  3. A courageous letter of Prof. M.R.P. really needs an appreciation. It makes people living in and abroad to understand the nooks and corner of problems in AC and its administration...... Judiciary system can go to any side, depends on advocate!! Only God can save this!

  4. An unscrupulous person forcibly occupying the chair of the Principal of this institution of more than 130 years of glorious tradition and noble values and indulging in illegal activities without any sense of shame or guilt is an insult to its Founding Fathers and to all those who hold it near and dear to them.

. Unfortunately, the judicial system, on which we have pinned our hopes so far, is moving at a snail's pace and it is likely to result in derailment of justice.
Instead of tolerating what is going on on the campus any longer, directly or indirectly, all other avenues including direct action again have to be explored. We cannot afford to be silent observers to this blatant outrage on the sanctity of this College.

I have a doubt. How do those in the faculty who got appointed in this college by their merit alone stomach the present outright 'selling' of appointments now ?

that would be great. he is shouting from the top of the Main Hall that AMERICAN COLLEGE IS A C.S.I. COLLEGE !!

it is enough if he answers just one question: WHOSE COLLEGE IS THIS?

  7. The leadership that students of The American College provided during the anti-Hindi agitation (1967) should be remembered. It all started with a march of the students of the College through the Masi streets and one of our students by name Wilson was stoned by some persons from with in the office of the Indian National Congress in that street and the agitation spread to the rest of the state. The marching of the students so well organized that people paid tribute to the compulsory NCC of those days. Where is that leadership that was the seed for the over throw of congress rule from Tamilnadu for ever? Can we get to that state now or in near future? Can our present staff motivate the present students to over throw the present illegal leadership of the college. God Save the College.

  8. A good chance to save The American College. Dr. R P Riesz will be in Madurai soon. Let us hope the persons interested in saving the College meet him and present their cases correctly and forcefully. Something could happen as he is one of those holding the College purse. A similar opportunity may not happen. again.

  9. Dr. Riesz should be in Madurai by this time. He will probably be there till 9th April. He may visit Kodaikanal in between. I hope people interested in saving the College have met him and briefed him before he meets the Bishop. I would suggest that you consider having a a picnic with him. It was after a grand picnic some of us had at Periakulam(one of those famous two wheeler trips accompanied by a few four wheelers) that the seed for College autonomy was sworn and we got it. So we can expect freedom from the present maladministration.. Best wishes.

  10. Dear Viewers,
I think, it is time for the current administration, to pack up, at least now, after several direct or indirect warnings.
Look at the following, taken from Dr. Chinnaraj Joseph's blog.
"It is quite strange that for one PhD registration you can get four versions of PhD, three from the degree awarding university and one from the university that approves your appointment. This is possible only in India and when you are a "big educationist" with money. See here more than anything, the tell tale example of the break down of our university system.
1.28.07.2007: "PhD EDUCATION" (Awarded by Viva-Voce Committee of Alagappa University- See previous post).

2.12.09.2007: "PhD INTERDISCIPLINARY(EDUCATION & MATHEMATICS)" (Modified by Registrar, Alagappa University- See previous post).
3.28.01.2008: "PhD EDUCATION (INTERDISCIPLINARY)"(Further modified by Sydicate of Alagappa university- See below).
    4. 25.02.2013: "PhD IN EDUCATION WITH MATHEMATICS IN SPECIALISATION"(Modified by Madurai Kamaraj University Syndicate which has no jurisdiction over Alagappa University award of a degree- See below)."

I think, these things can happen only in Indian Universities. A high level enquiry(CBCID or CBI) has to be organized by the Government of Tamilnadu or by the Givernment of India.

I would be the first person to join the team, which would meet Dr. Riesz, if I had been in Madurai. But I would like to convey my support to the team, which meet him.

    Yours,
