TRAVESTY OF TRUTH
The reported statement of the Moderator of the Church of South
India, G.Devakadaksham that the management of the American College
would continue to remain with the Bishop of Madurai-Ramnad Diocese (The
Hindu,1905-2012) cannot go unchallenged. It is nothing but a subtle
but dangerous attempt to present wrong information twisting facts.
This glorious institution, founded by the selfless missionaries,
through their sweat and sacrifice, has, right from its inception, been
christian in character and secular in outlook and has always maintained a
cordial and close relationship with the Church. But, it has never been a
church-controlled or a Diocesan college.
In fact, the now four year old struggle is all about preserving and
protecting this unique identity and individuality of the College. All
the struggles undergone and all the sacrifices made thus far would
become meaningless if, in the name of mediation, an atrocious attempt is
allowed to be made to undermine the very basic character and structure
of the institution and to throw its noble traditions to the winds.
Also, the Moderator's statement on the legitimacy of the Governing
Council convened by the illegal and unapproved Princpial and
Secretary(either by the University or Government) is intriguing, to say
the least and strengthens the strong suspicion of the motives of the
actors involved.

THE
CHURCH IS CREEPING IN... BEWARE ... IT IS WORKING ON A TIGHT GRIP TO
SWALLOW THE COLLEGE COMPLETELY. THE NEW MODERATOR IS NO DIFFERENT FROM
THE DEAD BISHOP, ON THIS COUNT. HE IS CERTAINLY TRYING TO LEGITIMIZE THE
DEAD BISHOP'S GOVERNING COUNCIL IN THE GUISE OF BRING PEACE AND
SOLUTION TO THE COLLEGE. HOW SAD.
Is The American College going to
acquire a standing comparable to that of the american college high
school? that is disaster ...

ReplyDeleteThis is an eloquent description of the situation we now face, to restore American College top its proper setup. The phrase "Right from its inception (the College has), been Christian in character and secular in outlook and has always maintained a cordial and close relationship with the Church. But, it has never been a church-controlled or a Diocesan college..
This states it clearly. WHY does the CSI need to have CONTROL over this 129-year ols College?
